FLAPPY BIRD DEVELOPER FLIP FLOPS BACK AND FORWARD!
2014 Mar 12th 10:54 AM
In a not-so unexpected change of direction the creator of
Flappy Bird, Nguyen Dong revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone that he is
“considering” returning the hugely successful app.
Despite earning Mr Nguyen more than £30,000 per day the
mobile phone game was abruptly shelved last month to the surprise of all.
Subsequent interviews regarding the sudden demise of Flappy Bird revealed that
the developer felt guilty.
“Flappy Bird was designed to play in a few minutes when you
are relaxed,” says Dong Nguyen, in an exclusive interview with Forbes.
“But it happened to become an addictive product. I think it has become a
problem. To solve that problem, it’s best to take down Flappy Bird. It’s gone
forever.”
To rectify this issue, the developer has informed Rolling
Stone that if it does come back there will be warning messages within the game
to prevent addiction: “take a break”.
So what do you think? Was this a deliberate marketing plan
to increase the popularity of Flappy Bird? In the end it doesn’t matter, no
doubt the popular mobile phone game will make a triumphant return and
illustrate what most of us all know already. Always keep your customers wanting
